Awards Profile: Verizon Wireless – Lands’ End

Apr 25, 2022 | Awards

In 2015, Lands’ End Business Outfitters dressed 30,000 Verizon Wireless employees who participated in the SMART Attire program. Launched in the spring of 2014, SMART Attire was Verizon’s first national uniform program for all of its 1,800 stores.

Verizon wanted employees to see the apparel program as a benefit rather than a negative, a wardrobe that they would feel completely comfortable wearing outside of the work environment as well as having a more approachable feel to the consumer. To accomplish this, Lands’ End created retail-inspired apparel that employees would want to wear and would buy using their own money. They focused on using popular active fabrics and building stylish, “hip” looks that Verizon’s employees wanted.

The SMART Attire apparel program was a blend of 129 styles in both stock and custom apparel that creates a unified assortment. Creative logo placement and the inclusion of tasteful red trims and accents are the hallmarks of this program. Logo placements include the collar and sleeve in addition to the traditional left front chest. Several apparel choices incorporate Verizon’s signature red through zippers, piping or plackets – custom design elements that brought in Verizon’s red in subtle but important ways.
