William Barnet & Son, LLC is a global manufacturing, recycling, and trading company specializing in a wide range of fibers, polymers, and yarns.
With over 120 years of history, the company’s product range extends from industrial quality to specialty / high-tech products. They manufacture and supply many different fibers and yarns including polyester, polyamide 6, polyamide 6.6, acrylic, polypropylene, and viscose. More recently, para and meta-aramid, HMPE and carbon have been added to the portfolio.
Barnet produces Nega-Stat® P190 which is a fine, multi-filament, bi-component yarn. Each filament has a unique, trilobal shaped, conducting core surrounded by a polyester sheath. Nega-Stat® is introduced into textile materials in defined grid and stripe patterns to provide optimum protection in a wide range of industrial end-use situations against the risks and hazards caused by static electricity. Nega-Stat® yarns are used in products and industrial end-uses, both, where full grounding is essential and/or in industrial applications where it is not possible to ensure complete grounding. The performance of Nega-Stat® is defined by the end-use requirement or the industrial risk and hazard.
Nega-stat® yarns can be used directly or can be combined with polyester, nylon, cotton and other yarns and fibers making them perfectly suited for weaving or knitting applications. Nega-stat® yarns are OEKO-TEX 100 certified, and are found in a variety of fabrics used for manufacture of garments for the oil & gas industry, for clean room, paint shops, pharmaceutical, bacteria control for food processing and packaging, and medical uses. The lint free and anti-cling properties provided by Nega-stat® also makes it an ideal choice for athletic wear, hosiery, lingerie, suiting and dress fabrics.
William Barnet’s full range of anti-static yarns includes core and surface conducting yarns in both polyester and nylon, available in a range of deniers in black and dyeable shades. Learn More
