Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) officers across Canada are getting a new look, and it’s an undertaking years in the making.
“The RCMP is modernizing our uniform!” reads a tweet posted by the police service last week. Officers from across Canada will be testing out new “duty shirts” every month starting in June, with the pilot project running six months.
“Modernization is a key priority for the RCMP, and that includes our uniform. It’s important that our members have professional, comfortable, and high-performing uniforms that are inclusive of the diverse needs of all who wear them,” read a subsequent tweet.
