Shift Manager

Job Summary

Oversee shift operations of a fast-paced, high-volume distribution center.  This includes responsibility for maintaining production and quality goals as well as continuous process-improvement activities.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Directly oversees area supervisors and 50 to 60 employees
  • Responsible for staffing, training and performance management of all department personnel
  • Maintains production, quality and customer service goals for department
  • Creates and monitors workflow in an automated system to set and maintain production goals
  • Continuously reviews processes and procedures for improvement opportunities
  • Monitors automated system to ensure that there are no issues creating delays in any area
  • Conducts meetings with personnel about safety and production goals on a consistent basis
  • Responsible for security of facility during night shift

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED Education/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Associate’s Degree required
  • 2+ years of experience in a distribution or operations environment
  • Experience interpreting and using data to make informed decisions
  • Prior experience with automated material handling systems as well as WMS System.
  • Strong working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred qualifications

  • Lean / Six Sigma experience a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree
