Quality Control Lead

Summary:

The Quality Control Lead’s primary responsibility is to audit all finished goods upon arrival at our distribution center.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicates daily to overseas factories as well as internal staff.
  • Thoroughly evaluates all aspects of garment and accessory quality and adherence to specifications.
  • Maintains a hard copy archive of all audits.
  • Inputs data in to a web-based Product Life Management (PLM) system.
  • Trouble shoots potential quality issues with key stakeholders.
  • Conducts internal quality audits on processes and procedures, correcting identified errors where appropriate.
  • Assists in monitoring vendor compliance to ensure management is informed of potential issues, and assists in formulating processes to address compliance-related requirements.
  • Drives quality initiatives and demonstrates proficiency in process improvement concepts.
  • Identifies problems, gathers and analyzes information skillfully then, provides recommendations for improvements.
  • Submits lab test requests as needed.
  • Works with both Product Development and Tech Design to identify the testing necessary for each item, both fabric and finished garments.
  • Submits requests and maintains library of results.
  • Works with Senior QA Manager and cross-functional teams as necessary regarding audit findings to determine next steps and resolutions.
  • Initiates intense 100% inspections when quality issues are found with finished goods.
  • Collaborates with planning and sourcing on replacements, chargebacks, etc. and presents recommendation to leadership.

Requirements:

Knowledge and Skills:

  • 3+ years of experience in apparel quality assurance / control
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office such as Outlook, Word and Excel required
  • Experience with a PLM system preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
