NAUMD Awards Profile Universal Orlando

Mar 27, 2022 | Awards

The 2018 Universal Orlando wardrobe program from Universal Creative was for an all new water theme park just steps away from everything Universal Orlando Resort™ has to offer. The program required wardrobe complimentary to the environment and story line.

Universal Creative came up with the concept in story lines and designs, deciding important elements right away. First, the garments needed to have an aged look about them; team members were to look like they had been at Volcano Bay for some time. Garments were to blend in art elements used through the Theme Park. And of course, team member residents needed to be comfortable in their attire.

The result is a program spanning multiple locations and many job functions. A rip stop fabric for merchandise/team captains gives outfits texture and protects from the rigor of a busy day; Attire for Park Services team members is made with a standard poly/cotton blend fabric with matching prints, with separate cuts for male and female employees. In total, there’s wear for Guest Service/Concierge, Front Gate, Merchandise Stores, Operations, Park Services, Restaurants, Bar/Cabana, Chefs, Guards and Slide Operations. The approximate number of wearers was 2,000.
