For the first time, NAUMD has taken on a summer intern. Twenty-two year-old Michael Winters is a student at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where he is studying global communications. He is interning with NAUMD for college credit, and to gain experience in the professional world that he can use to be successful in his future career.
Michael will be configuring data in the association’s CRM software, generating lists of companies in Mexico to potentially partner with, and creating social media marketing posts, among other things.
“I’m really interested in marketing, as well as working with people internationally, so I’m glad I found an internship which will allow me to do just that,” Michael said. Outside interests and hobbies include singing and writing, both of which he tries to practice every day. He has sung with the UWM Concert Chorale, and is in the planning stages of a horror novel.
With a graduation date of December, 2021, Michael will job start his job search early in the fall, applying for positions that include travel and travel coordination. His internship with NAUMD will end in August.
