In law enforcement, a uniform isn’t just clothing—it’s equipment. Every feature, from fabric choice to pocket placement, can impact performance in the field. General Tactic’s understanding of this reality sets the company apart as it carves out its place in the U.S. uniform market.
Founded on three decades of technical textile expertise, General Tactic specializes in designing and manufacturing next-generation uniforms for law enforcement and first responders. What started as a materials business in Europe has evolved into a full-scale uniform brand — one that’s earned the trust of agencies across the continent, including the Spanish National Police. Now, with a U.S. warehouse in New Jersey and a new product line tailored to American officers, the company is making a serious play for the North American market.
“At the end of the day, we’re not here to just sell uniforms,” says Carlos Godoy, who leads the company alongside his brother, Javier. “We’re here to help officers do their job better. That means listening, learning, and designing with the mission in mind.”
That philosophy is baked into General Tactic’s process. The company doesn’t churn out generic stock — instead, it collaborates with clients to identify specific pain points and design solutions that meet real-world demands. Whether it’s creating abrasion-resistant motorcycle patrol gear or breathable, hair-repellent fabrics for K9 units, each project is driven by the needs of the people wearing the uniform.
This attention to detail, paired with technical know-how, has made General Tactic a trusted name across Europe’s law enforcement landscape. Their designs cover everything from mounted police to intelligence services, balancing durability, comfort, and a professional appearance. It’s not uncommon for their uniforms to look as sharp at the end of a shift as they did at the start — a reflection of both the materials and the thought that goes into every stitch.
General Tactic’s expansion into the U.S. didn’t happen overnight. After years of research and conversations with American agencies and distributors, the team realized that expectations here differ from Europe. Instead of forcing European designs onto the market, they started from scratch — developing a U.S.-specific collection that reflects local preferences, job functions, and climate needs.
“We learned quickly that you can’t copy and paste a European solution here,” Carlos says. “The U.S. market deserves — and demands — gear designed for the way American officers work. That’s what we set out to build.”
The U.S. collection incorporates four-way stretch fabrics for better mobility, self-ironing technology to maintain a sharp look with less effort, and an advanced anti-odor finish that allows officers to wear the garments multiple times between washes. These features aren’t just about comfort — they’re about helping officers stay focused on the job, not their uniform.
With the opening of their New Jersey warehouse, General Tactic is ready to serve U.S. agencies directly, offering stocked products that ship quickly. But even as they scale operations stateside, the company remains committed to its collaborative roots.
General Tactic is looking for a strategic American partner to grow alongside them — one that shares their belief that better uniforms start with better conversations. “We know the product and the technology,” Carlos says. “Now, we’re looking for the right partner to help us build something strong and meaningful here.”
Being part of the NAUMD network is key to that effort. General Tactic sees the organization not just as an industry group but as a community of like-minded companies working to raise the bar in uniforms and image apparel. “For us, NAUMD is where important conversations happen,” Carlos adds. “It’s where partnerships form and where the future of our industry takes shape.”
General Tactic will be at this year’s NAUMD convention in New Orleans, showcasing its latest designs and connecting with agencies, distributors, and fellow industry professionals.

As General Tactic continues to grow, one thing remains constant: a belief that the right uniform is more than just what you wear — it’s what helps you do the job.
