First Annual National Uniform Day Garners Worldwide Attention

Sep 23, 2024 | Marketing

Scholarships. Discounts.  Giveaways.  Even dancing uniformed workers. These are some of the ways businesses celebrated NAUMD’s first annual National Uniform Day last week.

Dozens of companies took to social media platforms to celebrate the men and women who wear a uniform with pride and serve their communities with unwavering dedication. Galls, Workwear Outfitters, Logistik, BAMKO, RedKap, Gallagher Uniform, City Apparel + Merch are just some of the manufacturers and distributors who posted about the event on LinkedIn.  Others, like CR Scrubs, offered a discount on purchases made that day. ServiceWear Apparel gave away hoodies. And we already highlighted Cobmex’s scholarship in last week’s Pulse.

It wasn’t just the makers of garments who acknowledged the day.  Those who provide services to the industry, companies such as Aptean and UniformMarket by Sellers Commerce, gave kudos to the uniforms that help get the job done and the people who wear them with pride.

By any measure, the first annual National Uniform Day was an unqualified success, not just in the United States, but across the globe.  A Danish firm took time to post about the dedication of its armed forces.  During his morning walk, Klopman’s Mukesh Vijayergi, located in Dubai, reflected on the day’s significance. “A uniform isn’t just a piece of clothing; it is a symbol of commitment, responsibility, and unity,” he posted on LinkedIn. “It represents individuals who step into roles that require them to put others first—whether in healthcare, hospitality, education, or essential services.”

A few got creative. One of our favorites came from Huafang, a textile manufacturing group located in China who posted a short video marking the occasion.  At Superior Air-Ground Ambulance Service, employees showed us their dance moves. And the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission regaled us with photos of employees in protective wear.

Thanks to all for making National Uniform Day such a success.  It was a celebration long overdue, and we’re glad you joined us in spreading the word.  We look forward to next year’s festivities, but until then, let’s continue to honor those who proudly wear the uniform, representing service, identity and teamwork.
