Edwards Announces Leadership Changes

Edwards Garment Company last week announced several changes to its leadership. Gary Schultz, President and CEO, announced his decision to transition to retirement. He will maintain his leadership role as CEO for the organization and will continue to advise the new President, Jose Gomez, through this transition.

Gary’s 20+ years growing Edwards into a top 40 supplier and creating innovative new product offerings has given the organization the opportunity to expand within the uniform apparel markets. Throughout his career at Edwards, he has been instrumental in expanding product categories in culinary, suiting, hospitality and security, along with navigating acquisitions of Bishop Custom Apparel, offering exclusive custom apparel to brands, and HMB Andrew Rohan.

Gary will remain active throughout the transition. “With Jose as president, I will be able to devote my time to key strategy initiatives to grow all aspects of the business including our commitment to sustainable solutions,” states Schultz.

Jose Gomez, who previously served as senior vice president of operations, assumed the leadership role of president for Edwards Garment Co., effective July 1. 2021. Jose has been with Edwards for 10+ years and brought over 12 years of consulting experience with him from Kurt Salmon Associates. He has been instrumental in transforming the supply chain by expanding the global network and implementing world class software while responding to industry changes.

“The board selected Jose to lead the organization based on his vast knowledge of the apparel industry and their expressed belief in the value of insider knowledge and experience,” commented Schultz. “Jose’s wide-ranging experiences in the apparel industry provides him with the expertise that will serve Edwards today and into the future while his tenure assures the special culture the company has will continue.”
