ABOUT THE NAUMD INNOVATION AWARDS
The NAUMD's Innovation Awards maintains the tradition of recognizing excellence within the industry. Submissions for the 2021 awards must be received by September 1, 2021. The winners are revealed at the convention during the Awards Dinner on October 26, 2021.
The Innovation Award categories are:
Best Fabric Innovation
Best Footwear Innovation
Best Badge or Emblem Design
Best Garment Innovation – Comfort
Best Garment Innovation – Function
Best Public Safety Product Innovation
Best Digital Technological Innovation
RULES & REGULATIONS:
Eligibility Rules:
The Innovation Awards are open to all companies in the Image Apparel, Uniform Industry and Public Safety Suppliers to assure we are recognizing excellence in our industry.
All nominated programs MUST have a representative present to accept the Award in order to win, no exceptions. Not having a representative will disqualify the program and the runner-up will receive the Award.
The innovation must have been opened for sale between January 1, 2020 and July 1, 2021 in North America.
An innovation may be entered into more than one category, but an innovation can only win in one category each year.
Requirements:
The Entry Form with all questions answered is required in order for the submission to be judged. Photographs or drawing must accompany the Entry Form. The artwork should include pictures of all the product and any technical information. We suggest close up pictures of the individual product.
Only information provided on-line, through the entry form will be considered by the judges. All questions must be answered and a maximum of 5 photographs submitted.
The NAUMD must receive all entries no later than April 2, 2021. Entries will be judged and the winners notified by email.
NAUMD retains the right to use all photographs in publicity and future promotion materials.
Judging Criteria
The Innovation Awards are judged on a 100 point system. Each category will have a point maximum. All submissions will be electronically submitted. The submission consists of up to seven photographs of the uniform program and answers to a series of questions. This is the only information that may be used in judging each submission. Judges will score submissions in three categories.
Originality:
Judge the relative uniqueness and quality of either the design or innovation. Consider any research or development that went into the creation. Maximum Value 45 Points
Technology:
Does the design or innovation incorporate any new technology? Maximum Value 35 Points.
Importance of the problem solved:
Relative to other submissions how important is the problem solved or the improvement made with this innovation or design? Maximum Value 20 Points
