Built in 1888, The Hotel Del Coronado is a living legend. The Shore House is a new project at the property that offers a hotel experience in a  neighborhood of seaside residences. It is a coastal environment with 53 team members, spanning job functions from guest arrival, front desk, and food & beverage.

To prepare for the design process, Design Collective met with the properties’ team, reviewing . the architecture, color palettes and the overall apparel of the property.  The hotel  wanted a program that felt light and matched the interiors of the property, and wanted to create an elevated feel without being too formal. And of course, they wanted a seamless wardrobe program that matched the design of the property. 

To achieve these goals, Design Collective sought out fabrics and silhouettes that would perform well in a coastal environment. They used the sublimation print process to create a modern abstract print that added texture and interest to the fabric. They kept the silhouette classic, but added fabrics with modern sensibilities. All garments are breathable enough for warm weather but also versatile enough to layer during cooler weather.
