Asda making change to staff uniforms that could save shoppers’ lives

Mar 20, 2021 | International

Asda is making an addition to some of its staff’s uniforms in a bid to tackle loneliness and mental health issues.

Delivery drivers are being offered bright badges with the words ‘Happy to Chat’ printed on them to show they can talk with customers while they drop off their shopping.

Asda describes the The ‘Happy to Chat’ initiative as “delivering kindness”.

While delivery drivers won’t be forced to wear the badges, they have now been made a permanent addition.

The supermarket announced this week that the scheme was being extended permanently after a successful trial running since November.
