Air India has unveiled its new flight attendant and pilot uniforms, which are part of the airline’s general effort to rebrand itself into a world-class carrier. According to the airline, the new attire will mark the arrival of “a new age of inflight couture.” The carrier detailed that the uniforms were crafted by Manish Malhotra, an Indian celebrity couturier based in Mumbai, India. They feature “an array of colors and timeless designs,” mirroring “a rare, harmonious blend of rich Indian heritage and aesthetics with 21st-century style, elegance, and comfort.”
The carrier also noted that the uniforms will be introduced in phases over the next few months, with the first flights to feature them being on the airline’s first Airbus A350-900. The aircraft was unveiled with Air India’s refreshed livery in October 2023, as the airline has continued to prepare for the delivery of its first-ever aircraft of the type. The first Airbus A350-900 should be delivered by the end of the year.
