In an era when much of the U.S. textile landscape has been defined by consolidation and closures, FilSpec USA is writing a different kind of headline: a shuttered specialty yarn plant is humming again. FilSpec USA is the new name on the familiar facility long known locally as Patrick Yarns. In May 2025, Canada-based FilSpec Inc., operating within Textiles Monterey Group, announced it had acquired Patrick Yarns and would operate the Kings Mountain site as FilSpec USA, positioning the plant as a growth platform for specialty and technical spun yarns.
