Smart and Sustainable, Akasa Air Crew’s Uniform is Made from Recycled Marine Waste

Jul 4, 2022 | Airlines

India’s newest airline is all set to ditch pencil skirts, saris and heels for a uniform that allows flight attendants to move with ease. Akasa Air, which could take off later this month, just unveiled its crew’s uniform, which looks fun, practical and good for the planet.

Designed by Rajesh Pratap Singh, the uniforms take inspiration from the bandh gala. Akasa Air’s flight attendants will sport black trousers, a snug jacket and sneakers on the flight. Beyond the smart aesthetics, the uniform is also eco-friendly. The recycled polyester fabric is crafted from PET bottle plastic salvaged from marine waste. The material is stretchy to ensure comfort during busy flight schedules.
