Branding, identity and job function are all crucial elements to an effective crowd management program. You have to know who is on your team and where to find your supervisor. Across a crowded spectator arena with sometimes 500 staff in 12 different field positions, finding your team and your supervisor can be a daunting task. Enter Unitex Direct, who helped its customer, Best Crowd Management (BCM), solve this problem using color – and lots of it.
NAUMD’s 2021 Best Dressed Private Security Company, BCM is unique in the contract event staffing business in that it allows each stadium to pick from a palette of up to 15 colors of shirts, zippered and hooded jackets and parkas. Aside from the standard black, blue and grey apparel that one might see in a stadium program, you’ll also find the following: Neon Yellow, Orange, Gold, Royal, Red, Kelly Green, Columbia Blue, White, Hunter Green, Process Blue, Panther Blue and Stone
In the past, other venue management teams would allow team members to wear 1 or 2 or colors. Allowing for 15 gave the venues the opportunity to brand the event staff as unique to their stadium and team branding. This was a huge boon to venue managers and stadium executives who wanted some discretion in how their event staff would appear.
Unitex Direct was initially asked to find an off-the-shelf program in 12 to 15 colors in three uniform styles. When this proved impossible, they veered to a custom program, and contacted San Mar, Charles River and Bishop Custom Clothing, who are credited as program suppliers.
