Allie Brothers Uniforms Celebrates 50 Years in Business

Mar 28, 2021 | People

Congratulations to Allie Brothers Uniforms, which this year is marking its 50th anniversary. For those new to the industry, Allie Brothers is a Michigan, full service dealer specializing in uniforms and accessories for the public safety, image apparel, healthcare and postal markets.

Brothers Assad and John opened the original 1,200 foot Livonia site in 1971; a year later a third brother, Sam, came on board. Assad learned the uniform business while working for Mike Stark Tailoring, a cut-make-and-trim business where uniforms and suits were made to measure. John expertise was in customer service, having served as credit manager with UPS before partnering with his brother. Sam joined the ranks fresh out of school, taking over the postal side of the business.

Today, the store’s original footprint has swelled to 10,000 square feet. John has stepped back from day to day operations, and serves as Chairman of the Board in an advisory capacity. The move has paved the way for the next generation in this family business. Bob Allie, John’s son, is now president; Adam Samaan, is vice president. While leadership has changed the attention to detail and exemplary customer service remains a constant.

What does the future hold for Allie Brothers Uniforms? According to John, “the next 50 years look good!”
