Survey Seeks Industry Insight on Women’s PPE Design and Supply Chain Gaps

Jan 12, 2026 | Public Safety

As conversations around fit, function, and inclusivity continue to evolve in the PPE and workwear markets, a new industry survey is taking a closer look at how women’s protective equipment is actually being developed and delivered today.

The Safety Rack has launched its 2026 Manufacturer and Distributor PPE Equity Survey, building on prior research into women’s PPE and workwear. The survey is designed to better understand how products are designed, tested, sourced, and brought to market, as well as where persistent gaps or barriers remain across the supply chain.

The survey is directed at manufacturers and distributors involved in PPE and workwear. It seeks real-world input on current industry practices, recognizing that standards, testing protocols, sourcing decisions, and commercial realities all influence the final products available to end users.

The Safety Rack is a nonprofit organization focused on closing the PPE equity gap for women through education, research, and advocacy. Its work centers on advancing awareness of fit and performance issues in women’s safety equipment and supporting data-driven improvements across the industry. More information about the organization and its initiatives can be found at:

Survey responses are confidential and reported only in aggregate. The survey takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes to complete, and results will be used to inform future research, educational resources, and industry guidance.

Manufacturers and distributors interested in participating can access the survey here:
