Frontier has 7,000 wearers that provide and install telecommunication wiring services. These job functions include primarily technicians and supervisors. The goal of this new uniform program was to have a consistent brand vision, overall modern look, and a performance fabrication to work across all climates.
The original vision was for a navy polo with pops of aqua through stitching, buttons, and trim. However, after review, Frontier expressed concern regarding how “hot” a navy polo would be for workers climbing poles with the sun on their backs. Frontier also did not want a collar polo due to the environment and heat; they wanted a tee shirt.
In response, Design Collective designed a new V-neck knit top with piping and raglan sleeves for mobility, so it could span beyond a basic tee shirt. The color concerns were addressed by keeping the front of the shirt navy and using grey for the back. Aqua accents appear throughout the garment as well as other pieces in the collection. The size of the front pocket was also enlarged so that workers could carry their tablets with ease. Other items in the program include hats, and hi-vis garments, as well as ready-to-wear stocked items.
