Galls partnered with the Lexington-Fayette Division of Community Corrections to create a uniform program balancing tradition, authority, and comfort. Serving 1,260 inmates with 323 sworn officers, the program includes Class A and B uniforms from Elbeco and Flying Cross, featuring updated rank insignia on sleeves or epaulets, LDCC collar brass, and new department patches with a Thin Gray Line.
A distinctive Color Guard uniform reverses the Class A color scheme, combining silver accents, a gray Stratton hat, and cavalry-striped trousers, symbolizing ties to Kentucky’s sheriff heritage. Officers also wear cloth replicas of service ribbons on daily uniforms, enhancing recognition and morale.
The department views these uniforms as a visible symbol of community trust and professional pride. The collaborative project took 27 months to ensure quality, function, and durability.
