The Merino Wool Base Layer System has been developed by the Logistik operational design team, with the specific requirements of military forces in mind, fir environments ranging from the desert, to the tropics, to the tundra, and the Arctic.
As opposed to a collection of items, these pieces form a unique system, which is designed to adapt to a variety of environmental conditions and metabolic elements. Within the system, there are several layers from which the user can select depending on their preference and mission.
The Base Layers are made of 100% merino wool and include four categories of items, from cooler to warmer, to optimize the wearer’s experience: Underwear, Mesh, Light Thermal and Mid-Thermal.
Using different merino wool fabrics enabled Logistik to optimize the properties of each garment. The merino jersey has All products also have antibacterial and odor control properties. Merino wool was also chosen for its quick-drying qualities. Moreover, it was crucial that all items in contact with the skin be no melt/no drip, for the wearer’s safety. Merino wool naturally will not melt in contact with heat or fire.
