2023 Awards Profile: Tesla, HPI X Bamko, a Division of Superior Group of Companies

Sep 24, 2023 | Awards

Tesla’s dedication to expediting the advent of sustainable transport is a cornerstone of its corporate mission. So it is little wonder that they require image wear that aligns with the unique and crucial objectives of their organization.

With a staggering 125,000 employees, the range of garment types needed to satisfy Tesla’s needs is expansive, including tees, polos, outerwear, work pants, performance slacks, cardigans, button-ups, and much more. Job functions covered under HPI’s program include sales teams, delivery employees, solar installers, site surveyors, service technicians, parts center distribution employees, paint teams, supervisors, and maintenance staff.

HPI faced the challenge of developing a cohesive strategy that upheld the brand image, culture, environment, and workforce. The previous non-centralized and inconsistent approach to purchasing uniform items across different departments and locations did not represent Tesla’s desired image. To remedy this, Tesla sought to centralize their uniform program, incorporating procurement and branding representation to achieve uniformity. The focus on consistency was a primary driving force behind the redesign and extended to the various work groups with a consolidated uniform offering that could cater to different job roles and functions.

Tesla also tasked HPI with incorporating the sleek and modern aesthetic of their cutting-edge automobiles into the new uniform pieces, so HPI worked to align the uniforms with the vehicles’ streamlined and contemporary lines, adding subtle components such as hidden buttons and zipper pulls.

The result is an award-winning program that exudes a retail-oriented modernity and aligns with Tesla’s forward-thinking brand. To further emphasize authenticity and Tesla’s commitment to quality and ownership, each garment bears a signature red grosgrain tape
