Tesco PLC is a British multinational grocery and general merchandise retailer. Tesco’s main goal for this collection was to provide their colleagues with a new uniform that complimented the brand strategy while focusing on comfort and fit for all departments, enabling them to feel proud and part of the team.
With 275,000 uniform-wearing colleagues, Tesco’s uniform program is focused on a diverse offering to include all wearers’ needs based on individual requirements and job functions. After a trial run, for example, a top in a more breathable material was added to the collection for women going through menopause.
Tesco also wanted to ensure all team members felt welcome, and as such provided inclusive items for colleagues. A bespoke safety footwear shoe was developed for a colleague with special footwear needs; another wears a blouse emblazoned with a message letting others know she is deaf.
The uniform range is in this collection is vast, and includes long and short sleeve polo shirts/t-shirt; long and short sleeve blouses and short sleeve casual top options; tunic/pharmacy long sleeve shirt; menopausal short sleeve casual top; maternity roll up sleeve blouse, cargo trouser, chino trouser, smart formal trouser for managers; heavy padded bonded jacket, hoodie, baseball cap/wool hat; and a waterproof outerwear jacket.
