There is nothing quite like seeing the rows of dress uniforms during an honor guard ceremony. The look underscores a deep sense of duty and commitment that compels each officer to serve.
That look was honored this year by NAUMD, when the Fresno Police Department was awarded a Best Dressed Public Safety Award for the exemplary appearance of its honor guard unit. Located in California, the Fresno PD has 811 officers. Members of the Honor Guard take pride in their personal appearance and maintain attention to detail with their uniforms, as do all sworn officers. Uniforms must be clean, professional, and well-designed from hat to shoes.
The program manufactured by Fechheimer is the embodiment of these standards. The crisp blue garments are a cross between traditional law enforcement wear and military-styled garments. This honor guard unit goes above and beyond what is expected; a highly visible unit, they are eager and willing to participate in community events throughout the year. This increased presence instills pride in both the officers and the public they serve.
The entry process for the 2024 Best Dressed Public Safety Department Competition, as well as NAUMD’s other recognition programs will open late fall. Check the website and keep reading The Pulse for updates, or contact rick.levine@naumd.com to learn more.
