Tim Hortons has become an icon for Canadian pride. One of the main objectives for this 2022 Image of the Year Award® winning program in the design process was to identify how to make the new uniforms present a more “Canadiana” feel to its customers.
It was this desire that led to the addition of the red plaid being used across multiple styles and as accents for pops of color. This red and black checkered pattern is called “buffalo plaid” and it came to Canada from Scotland, with settlers who brought the fabric and ready-made garments to the New World.
The program consists of 100% fully custom produced styles. Options include short sleeve polos, flat front pants, full zip sweater, baker’s chef jacket, a winter jacket and visors and caps. Female pants were completely overhauled and now include mechanical stretch, a contoured waistband and wider hips for added comfort.
Tims as a company has made it an objective to reduce their plastic consumption in a drive to be more sustainable. The full zip sweater in program is being produced with 30% recycled fibers in effort to support this initiative.
The submission process for the 2023 Image of the Year Awards, Best Dressed Public Safety Awards and Innovation Awards is now open. The deadline for entries is March 1, 2023. Learn more by visiting https://naumd.com/awards/about/
