Smaller Convention Means More Opportunities to Engage

The COVID-19 pandemic has led to a huge shift in the way that businesses and attendees approach events and trade shows, and NAUMD is no exception. While many organizations have canceled their meetings, NAUMD has chosen to go on with its 2021 convention, the first such in-person gathering since 2019.

We’re delighted to be back, but make no mistake: the convention will be different from what members are used to. It will be a smaller, more intimate gathering with less attendees. The number of exhibitors will be lower than previous years. That might give some pause, but fewer attendees may work in everyone’s favor. Considering the obstacles to attendance, those who did invest the time and money are serious about being there, about learning and connecting with suppliers. Fewer booths to visit means attendees probably spend more time at each exhibit. As a result, chances are that many exhibitors spend more time engrossed in productive conversations with qualified leads, and that more attendees leave the show armed with information that will grow their business. A smaller convention means more – not less – opportunities for business engagement.

People attend shows to talk to staff and enjoy the personal contact and customized information that’s unmatched on a website, and that is exactly what convention goers will find in San Diego October 24-26. NAUMD has taken every precaution to keep attendees safe, and has worked with the hotel to ensure a safe environment. All attendees will find a mask in their registration packet, and while mask wearing will be encouraged, it will not be required.

So join us in San Diego later this month. Visit https://naumd.com/convention/ to learn more and register. We can’t wait to welcome you back.
