As the American Thanksgiving holiday approaches, it is a good time to reflect on ways to help those who have been less fortunate. One organization doing just that is SHARE Ukraine, a not for profit organization that has reached out to NAUMD for assistance in helping Ukrainians in their most urgent time of need.
SHARE Ukraine is looking for donations of new winter field boots and socks, preferably cold weather and waterproof rated suitable for winter field operations. Your donation will go to the members of the Ukrainian Territorial Defense Forces of Kharkiv regional defenses. They are protecting their neighbors from Russian aggression. SHARE Ukraine works with Simply People, a Ukrainian 100% volunteer-staffed humanitarian organization that helps all citizens and citizen soldiers with food, medicine, life’s necessities, and creature comforts needed in the field to provide an effective defense.
Donated items should be shipped directly to Ukraine. Those who need assistance with logistics should contact SHARE Ukraine founder Sam Rozenberg at (248)514-1600 or sam@shareukraine.org . Share Ukraine, a D.B.A. of Share Detroit, is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, EIN: 36-4940833. In accordance with IRS guidelines, gifts to Share Detroit are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.
We cannot change the outcome of this war, but we can make the lives of those still living and suffering in Ukraine and the millions of refugees that have already fled more bearable.
