The warmth and lifestyle of the Florida Keys were the inspiration behind this 2021 Image of the Year Award® winner. Florida is a hot state, so light-weight fabrics are a must. So too, is a color palette that reflects the climate; garments are colored in sand, white, turquoise and khaki.
The outdoor emphasis of Bungalows was a critical component to the program that was ultimately developed. The resort is built around 135 private bungalows, eliminating the need for indoor hallways or elevators. The challenge for its uniform supplier, JA Uniforms, was to provide comfortable apparel to be worn outside in a warm climate – without sacrificing the elegance required for a high-end boutique resort.
Bellman greet arrivals to the Bungalows wearing classic all white uniforms that are trimmed in turquoise and finished with a matching white pitch helmet that is also trimmed in turquoise. Front desk staff wearing a matching performance vintage khaki bottom that is paired with white unstructured blazers and turquoise shirts and blouses. Room attendants wear a classic spread collar tunic made of a breathable, no-iron seersucker fabric.
Through the use of technology, JA Uniform was able to manage and contain costs typically associated with similar small programs. The use of cutting room technology with marker making and robotic cutting machine (Lectra & Q25) allowed the supplier to provide Bungalows quick delivery times for relatively small custom items made in the USA. Additionally, the use of sublimation resulted in the perfect turquoise color match for the men’s and ladies front desk blouses and shirts. The use of non-traditional vinyl logos is a decoration technique not usually found in uniform programs.
