Awards Profile: WINTEX Apparel GmbH, Modular Factory Design

Jan 27, 2025 | Awards

As the demand for apparel manufacturing shifts to different parts of the world and due to the essential nature of uniforms, it was necessary to find a stable location with readily available labour outside of the heavily concentrated Asian manufacturing hubs.

After intensive review of various sub-Saharan countries, it was determined that Togo was an ideal location due to their access to the Atlantic Ocean, stable government and available labour.

Wintex, as part of the Logistik family, worked with the leaders of Logistik’s modular factories in Vietnam which have been operational for several years.

Built on the principles of the Cellular Garment Manufacturing (Toyota Sewing System), workers are trained as a team on several manufacturing tasks. This allows the team to easily change from producing one product to another enhancing the employee’s daily experience and morale.

Additionally, Wintex Togo Due was designed to meet the unique demands of the uniform industry, where few units of select sizes are often required to meet customer demand. The factory can  fulfill both large and small production orders with the capacity to employ about 250 manufacturing employees.
