The Port Authority Police Department is one of the most unique agencies in America. They have authority and jurisdiction that no other agency possesses. They are also a self-funded agency, generating revenue from the valuable assets that they own and protect.
They are also a highly visible department, seen by thousands of citizens and travelers from all over the world. As such, they take their image seriously. An officer’s appearance must project professionalism and authority. The department believes that how they are seen will impact the perception of America as a whole to many people.
The PADP turned to Galls to achieve the desired look for its 2,000 officers.. Numerous wear tests, with many of the best manufacturers in the business were used. Wear tests were performed over all seasons and rigorously tested throughout many departments. Different fabrics, materials, and cuts were considered.
The effort paid off, and also earned Galls and the department a best dressed public safety agency nod. The overall image projects professionalism and their look is classic.
