BC Ferries operates 39 ferries and 25 routes through the west coast of British Columbia. As for the garments, Unisync provides custom-made suiting in 54% poly/ 43% wool/ and 3% Lycra, specific to special event requirements. High visibility parkas and matching pants for BC Ferries is specifically designed to meet the weather challenges on the west coast for ferries, such as heavy rain, and open wind exposure. The parka and pants are 100% polyester thermoplastic polyurethane, seam sealed, waterproof, breathable, and high visibility yellow and navy, with reflective CSA striping. The BC Ferries logo is on each sleeve in navy blue and in silver reflective heat transfer across the lower back bottom of the jacket. The parka has maximum versatility, with both a quilted liner and a fleece jacket that optionally zip into the parka outer shell.
BC Ferries shirt and pant combination colors are specific to particular workgroups, including a navy shirt and pant set, black shirt and pant set, as well as tan shirt and pant set. The importance of the different colors is to ensure rapid and easy identification.
Additionally, BC Ferries requires a portion of their garments to be manufactured domestically at unionized plants, positioning Unisync to be able to offer this important service supporting Canadian-made products and unionized Canadian labor.
