Penske Corporation is a closely-held, diversified, on-highway, transportation services company whose subsidiaries operate in various industry segments, including retail automotive, truck leasing, transportation logistics, and professional motorsports. They employ more than 70,000 people worldwide.
Penske was committed to their self-proclaimed, “Year of the Uniform.” They wanted to get out of their long-standing, navy uniform shirt and develop something that provided a better company brand image, offered more comfort, and stood as a uniform that the employees would feel proud to wear. They also wanted to provide more female silhouettes to accommodate their diverse workforce. To accomplish these goals, the company turned to Aramark.
Aramark was tasked with a redesign that would be modern, comfortable, stylish and unique to the Penske brand. Aramark rolled out the new designs to be used by Penske on both a rental program and a direct sale option.
The new uniform program revolves around the redesign of the Penske work shirt. Aramark designed a unique, brand-centric shirt that came in both male and female silhouettes. The newly designed product assortment consists of long and short sleeve colorblock shirts, SteelGuard® insulated hooded jackets, enhanced visibility polyester knit shirts and cargo pants, and knit hats and caps. New styles, such as outerwear options were made available for locations to purchase directly. Some of the jackets are also used for employee recognition or anniversaries.
The entry process for the 2024 Image of the Year Awards, as well as NAUMD’s other recognition programs will open soon. Check the website and keep reading The Pulse for updates, or contact rick.levine@naumd.com to learn more.
