Representatives from the WITSEC (Witness Security Program) division of the US Marshall’s reached out to Blackinton to design a commemorative anniversary badge. Marshalls made several on-site visits, and were very specific about their requirements.
The concept included a phoenix rising from the ashes placed at the center of the badge. Blackinton quickly determined that a single color and traditional methods would not achieve the desired effect; instead, the design team used a color gradient to add depth and interest to the badge.
With experience in commercial-grade digital printing and surface coatings, Blackinton became the manufacturer to provide the solution. They deployed their proprietary digital “unlimited coloring” method to achieve the desired look.
