The Arizona Department of Public Safety is charged with patrolling in extreme weather conditions ranging from cold winters to extremely hot summers to everything in between. Finding a uniform that was functional, comfortable and professional had been an issue for this department in the past. That is, until their winning program supplier, I. Spiewak stepped in.
The program designed by Spiewak is easy care, all while maintaining a sharper appearance for longer periods of time. Super materials and construction, along with features such as a heavier inner lining in collars, cuffs and plackets are all contributing factors to making troopers look professional and feel as comfortable as possible while on duty.
The AZDPS uniform program consists of multiple options available to all troopers. For the first time in AZDPS history they have added a black stripe to the trouser for a more distinctive appearance. Another first is the availability of gender sizing for female troopers who previously were wearing garments sized for men.
Spiewak used a new fabrication for the trousers consisting of 74% Polyester/ 24% Wool/ and 2% Lycra that provides comfort without compromising appearance. The washable, easy care garments provide additional stretch and comfort, as does the addition of an expand-on-demand waistband. Shirts are affixed with a permanent military crease and a hidden button down collar that prevents the collar from flipping up.
